BalletBoyz return to the stage
Following two successful tours in the spring and autumn of 2016, the iconic dance company BalletBoyz will return to the stage in 2017, with a third leg of their UK tour of Life. New tour dates have recently been announced for this critically acclaimed production, with the tour running from 6 March to 25 May.
The production received its world premiere at London’s Sadler’s Wells in April 2016, and initially toured throughout April and May. Following sell-out shows, Life returned for a second leg of the first tour in November 2016. Returning with a third UK leg this spring - back by popular demand - the company will also embark on a North American and European tour which is hugely exciting for the BalletBoyz audiences.
Co-produced by Sadler’s Wells in association with artsdepot, the show features an original score and the evening takes a powerful and provocative look at life and death, presented in BalletBoyz’ inimitable style. The show features commissions of work by acclaimed choreographers Javier de Frutos and Pontus Lidberg. The production will tour to Nottingham; Salford; Bristol; Newcastle; Inverness; Truro and Bromley ahead of travelling internationally. Tickets for the tour are now on sale.
The current BalletBoyz Company includes Jordan Robson; Harry Price; Josh Wild; Marc Galvez; Simone Donati; Matthew Rees; Edward Pearce; Matthew Sandiford; Flavien Esmieu and Bradley Waller. Each of the dancers has a varying level of dance experience; with some this spans a lifetime and with others this experience only goes back as far as beginning to study dance at school. Despite this, the dancers work closely as a tight-knit team, using their expertise to thrill and make their audiences think.
