Dancewear Central Sponsor Dance Caper 2014

Dancewear Central is very excited to announce we will be sponsoring this year’s Dance Caper Festival, taking place at the state of the art Athena Theatre, Leicester on Saturday 28th June 2014. Dance Caper is a fantastic one-day dance festival that brings together dance schools, school dance clubs and youth dance groups from across the UK. Less pressured than many other dance festivals and competitions, Dance Caper is all about celebrating dance together! There are 3 sections, a dance competition, inspirational performances from professional dancers and an evening dance showcase. Aiming to raise the aspirations of the Dance Caper pupils, the show includes exciting performances and interviews from professional dancers from a range of backgrounds and all at different points in their dancing careers.

Headlining the’ Inspire’ show and on the judging panel will be Tap Attack who together have gone on to represent England at the IDO World Tap Championships in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 accumulating to date 3 World Titles, 5 silver and 10 bronze medals, as well as being semi-finalists in series two Sky1’s Got to Dance.

Performances from the most recent Britain’s Got Talent Finalists - Addict Initiative, will be a major highlight! Addict Dance Studios is the leading commercial dance centre in the UK. They hold a multitude of accolades and worldwide titles, 18 gold stars on Sky1’s ‘Got to Dance’ and featured on Ashley Banjo’s Secret Street Crew, showcasing what commercial dance should look like. Simon Cowell describe them as ‘Refreshingly Evil.’ BBC1’S The Apprentice candidate Francesca MacDuff-Varley, will be interviewed live as well as presenting the Inspire 2014 award. She will also be joining the judging panel for the competitions. A classically trained dancer, one of Francesca’s first jobs was teaching baby ballet at her local dance studios. She is now the founder and director of a dance studio, a professional dance agency and a lookalike agency. Dance Caper represents the fun of dance, there’s no pressure at this event, and everyone can relax and enjoy themselves. We think it’s brilliant that dance schools can come together in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere without the rivalry and have the opportunity to perform, talk to fellow dancers about find out about a professional dancer’s life. We are really looking forward to the mix of competitions, workshops & showcases, and of course the performances from the likes of Tap Attack & Dance Addict. For many schools this will be their first experience of a dance festival so nerves will be high but we wish them the best of luck and above all hope everyone has fun and enjoys the day!
