Fast+Fresh Dance
Across the ocean in Australia Fast+Fresh Dance aims to showcase short dance works choreographed by young dancers. Similar to schemes in the UK such as Resolution! at The Place or internationally through other dance competitions. Fast+Fresh Dance is part of the Short+Sweet family of festivals down under, schemes which aid young dancers in finding their feet as dance artists.
Fast+Fresh Dance includes three rounds of heats, judged each day by a panel of industry professionals. The final following the heats will include the Creative director of The Voice, Marko Panzic, as part of the final panel of judges, searching for the all-encompassing piece by a dedicated and passionate young choreographer. Fast+Fresh Dance encourages active participation in dance at all levels and styles including contemporary dance, ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap, krumping and cultural dance, meaning there is much scope for young creatives who wish to pursue this avenue of dance and performance.

All participants of the Fast+Fresh Dance competition, remaining with the traditions of the Short+Sweet festivals, are eligible for sponsored awards such as Most Outstanding Choreography, Best Male Dancer, Best Female Dancer and the Audience Choice Award, adding further value to the choreographed work which is to be presented. For the 2013 competition this November, additional awards will be offered for Best Solo, Best Duet and Best Group. There are many industry sponsored awards and cash prizes to be won, meaning the competition carries much weight for young hopefuls.
Competitions such as Fast+Fresh Dance can be a fantastic opportunity for young dancers and choreographers to experiment with their work while they are young and discover themselves as dance artists. With prize money and awards available, their training and experience can be furthered by more opportunities, developing the future generations of dance.
Dancewear Central wishes all the young dancers/choreographers the very best for the competition.
