At Dancewear Central we are passionate about developing our specialist collections and we have a desire to introduce more sustainable products and brands to our eco-friendly department. We are thrilled to welcome Imperfect Pointes to the Dancewear Central family.
Imperfect Pointes started out in 2020 and was the brain-child of owner Helen Banks. Born from her frustration at the lack of dancewear brands focusing on sustainability, Helen has three main aims for her company:
Inclusion and Diversity- to create a place where everyone who loves ballet can feel included.
Sustainability- not adding to landfills and aiming for zero waste!
Make an impact- encourage the ballet community to make a change!
All Imperfect Pointes garments are made from ECONYL® yarn, a 100% regenerated nylon fibre made from nylon waste. Helping to rid the seas of tangles of fishing nets and ensuring less nylon heading to landfill.
We have carefully selected three of our favourite Imperfect Pointes styles:
Haina Oyster Pink Cami Strappy Leotard
The beautiful Haina leotard comes in a pretty ‘oyster pink’ and features classic camisole straps with an elasticated bra shelf and a flattering ruche at the front.
Sleeveless Boat Neck Leotard

Imperfect Pointes have also created a world first with their recyclable ballet tights in collaboration with Swedish Stockings. Their convertible tights allow a smooth transition from bare foot to footed all without losing their shape. Their deep waistband and non-slip material make them a favourite for professional and vocational dancers alike. Available in three shades this is an 100% emission free and recyclable product.
Did you know that Imperfect Pointes have a recycling scheme for your tights? Dancewear Central will accept returns of your worn Imperfect Pointe tights and return them to Imperfect Pointe’s for recycling - they will be regenerated into another pair of tights- it’s a totally circular product!
