Jersey Boys on the move
Jersey Boys, the musical which has been thrilling lovers of the iconic Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, is set to transfer to the Piccadilly Theatre in March next year. Currently running at the Prince Edward Theatre, the smash hit musical recently celebrated its fifth birthday in London’s West End. The final performance will be on Sunday 9 March 2014.
The transferral of Jersey Boys will be another in a list of moves to and fro across the West End, such as the most recent Mamma Mia!, in addition to returns of previously departed musicals such as Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story on Stage. Dirty Dancing went on national and international tour following its first stint at the Aldwych Theatre and will take over from Spice Girls musical Viva Forever! in July.
Jersey Boys, telling the true tale of Frankie Valli the Four Seasons and their rise to stardom from the wrong start in life, opened in London in March 2008. The four boys from New Jersey became one of the most successful bands in pop history, going on to sell 100 million records worldwide before they turned 30. The musical has now been seen by over 17.5 million people worldwide and is firmly established as one of the West End's longest running and most popular shows. The show previously premiered on Broadway in 2006.

The production has won 54 major awards worldwide, including the Olivier Award for Best New Musical. After opening on Broadway the show received the Tony Award for Best Musical, and continues to run on both sides of the Atlantic. Jersey Boys can also be seen in Las Vegas, across the United States on its US National Tour, in Perth, Australia, and will open soon in Cape Town, South Africa and in the Netherlands.
