Moscow City Ballet on tour
Moscow City Ballet will be returning to the UK in the autumn, following the great success of its Silver Anniversary tour last year. The acclaimed company will be performing classical productions on tour, including Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet, The Nutcracker and Giselle. The tour will take place from 3 November 2014 until 28 March 2015 in the capital.
The Moscow City Ballet company was founded in 1988 by Victor Smirnov-Golovanov: Smirnov-Golovanov lost his battle with cancer in 2013 so the company is now lead by his wife, Ludmila Neroubashchenko. She has been maintaining his many productions over the past few years.

The 2013 season tour in the UK was an emotional one for Neroubashchenko as the first since her husband Smirnov-Golovanov passed away. Also marking the 25th anniversary of the company, the audiences wholeheartedly supported the company in its work. Demand for the company has seemingly been so great that the Moscow City Ballet company is brining even more dancers than before, in addition to more staging and more costumes in the equivalent of two Moscow City ballet production companies.
Additions to the company will allow Moscow City Ballet to be more flexible in overlapping some of their tour dates, yet still 'provide the complete Russian dance experience' for their eager audiences who are already known to be incredibly supportive. For audiences in Eastern Europe, the demand for the Moscow City Ballet company has increased over the past few years. As a result of this the company has expanded, also benefiting the international demanding audiences too.
