London's West End could be in for another Disney addition to its musical theatre repertoire as soon as 2016 if reports are to be believed. It has been speculated that the musical adaptation of the ultimate Disney classic Aladdin is likely to see a West End transfer as it is currently taking audiences on Broadway by storm. It’s therefore no surprise that a West End theatre is being eyed up for a transfer to bring this spectacular musical to the city.
Adapted from the 1992 animated Disney movie, Aladdin is the timeless tale of a street urchin who discovers a magic lamp with a genie inside who helps him win the heart of the beautiful Princess Jasmine. The family-favourite production features songs by Alan Menken and legendary lyricist Tim Rice, and - upon its transfer - will take the West End by storm and delight its audiences on UK shores too.

If negotiations go to plan, Aladdin will be flying into London on his magic carpet, and landing in the London Palladium. The Palladium is currently home to Cats the Musical, and Aladdin could arrive in the theatre as early as 2016. It has also been revealed that there may be more plans for total Disney domination in London's Theatreland.
Disney’s theatrical president Thomas Schumacher has revealed that there could be five more international productions in the pipeline. As well as the previously announced adaptation of Frozen, Schumacher also revealed he had been thinking about theatrical opportunities and there could be a very interesting Lucas-orientated live event that could happen in the future.
