English National Ballet School to present second USA Summer Intensive

English National Ballet School is set to present its second USA Summer Intensive in partnership with Ballet Theatre of Toledo, Ohio, following the success of the inaugural Summer Intensive last July. ENBS will be sending teachers from the school to lead a week long ballet intensive from July 21st - 26th, the only opportunity in 2014 for students and ballet professionals to study with this esteemed arts organisation in the United States. The course is open to Advanced, Pre-Professionals and Professionals, master classes will also be held in the evenings for Intermediate-level students. Auditioning for a place on the course is by Youtube link and DVD, however dancers from the local area and region are invited to apply to join the class, which is hoped to draw ballet students from across the country. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uF24Zm4Daac Under the leadership of the internationally known dancer and choreographer Artistic Director Nigel Burgoine and Toledo’s own former prima ballerina Anne Marie Getz, Ballet Theatre of Toledo was created to ensure classical ballet training and performances in a family-based setting. It is a non-profit arts organisation supported by its families, members and the Ohio Arts Council. As a performance-based ballet school where dancers learn classical ballet under a world-class faculty, students find themselves on the stages of some of the region’s most unique arts venues. In addition to “The Nutcracker,” a glorious holiday tradition on Thanksgiving weekend in Toledo’s spectacular Valentine Theatre, numerous production opportunities are provided both locally and on tour. English National Ballet School, the official school of English National Ballet, was founded in 1988 to provide talented young dancers with the highest quality training irrespective of their background or ability to pay. At present a third of dancers at English National Ballet are graduates of the School and have contracts at all levels of the company from Artist to Senior Principal.
